HOSPICE & PALLIATVE MEDICINE FELLOWSHIP:

Lehigh Valley Health Network's Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program was recently accredited by the ACGME.  The program is designed to provide specialized training for two qualified fellows in the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients, families and caregivers with life threatening illness.  The duration of the fellowship will be one year, during which the hospice and palliative medicine fellow will acquire outstanding skills in the inpatient and outpatient settings.  Graduates who successfully complete the Hospice and Palliative Fellowship Program will be eligible to take the American Board of Medical Specialty Hospice and Palliative Medicine Certification Examination.

NEPHROLOGY FELLOWSHIP:
F or many years the LVHN Nephrology Division has taught clinical nephrology to residents and medical students.   In September 2011, LVHN received ACGME approval to begin a Nephrology Fellowship Program, which we will begin in July 2012 with the arrival of our first two PGY-4 fellows.   We will offer a two-year clinical nephrology fellowship program that will provide outstanding opportunities for clinical and academic training.   Joining the Nephrology Fellowship at LVHN will be an opportunity to participate in building a fellowship program from the ground up, in supportive and resource-rich setting. We are excited about creating an innovative, fellow-centered curriculum with collaboration and contributions from our fellows.  See the LVHN Nephrology Fellowship Internet site for more details.

PULMONARY / CRITICAL CARE FELLOWSHIP:

Lehigh Valley Health Network, in conjunction with Penn State University, offers a three-year Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship program that provides great exposure to a diverse and rich patient population.  With a strong telemedicine program, the LVHN program allows for supervision over all facets of care with the ability to develop autonomy as training progresses.  Training is complemented with a full sleep lab at 17th street and exposure to all areas of pulmonary medicine, including bronchoscopy and interventional pulmonary medicine.
